About Hobbit Hill

Hobbit Hill sweeps down a lush rolling hillside to the banks of the River Ribble. Sheltered by woodland from behind, the whole site has wide, far-reaching, fabulous views across the valley to Pendle Hill, the River Ribble and beyond.

Much of the legendary Tolkien Trail passes through and around this area, along the meandering river, across the fields and up through Stonyhurst, inspiring the creation of Hobbit Hill with its beautiful rustic barn, the cosy Hobbit cabins and the magical Round Wood.

With panoramic views across the countryside and down towards the river Ribble, Hobbit Hill is an idyllic blank canvas to create a dream wedding. Family-owned and run by the Wilkinson family, we are passionate about creating a venue which blends perfectly with our beautiful surrounding countryside and ensuring our weddings here are unique and memorable.

We are always looking for ways to improve and enhance the venue and Hobbit Hill has evolved organically and sensitively, taking care to be harmonious with the surrounding natural landscape.

Our cosy wooden cabins provide on-site accommodation for family and friends and include a beautifully bespoke Luxury Lodge nestling behind the Round Wood, with lovely views over the Valley.

The Shire is a simply gorgeous two storey addition with bridal suite, two further bedrooms, bathroom, beauty room and large open dining/kitchen/lounge space, all taking advantage of the lovely views across the valley.

The Ceremony Room is licensed for weddings and civil ceremonies. This beautiful, elegant space has the same paranoramic outlook and is a perfect alternative to the Round Wood. After the ceremony, the room can be turned around into a comfy break out room for relaxing and chilling during the celebrations.

Hobbit Hill has become an exclusive, fabulous rural wedding venue and the perfect place for a unique and unforgettable wedding day.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect setting for our wedding at Hobbit Hill. The venue was absolutely stunning, with a fantastic atmosphere and picturesque surroundings that made the perfect backdrop for the day.

From the very beginning, communication was brilliant, and nothing was ever too much trouble. The staff were so friendly, helpful and welcoming, and everything we needed was taken care of. The sun even decided to shine, which made the day even more special!

The food was delicious, and so many of our guests commented on what a fantastic venue Hobbit Hill was and how much they enjoyed the day.

We honestly couldn’t fault a thing. From the setting and atmosphere to the food and the wonderful staff, everything was just right. Thank you to the whole team at Hobbit Hill for helping make our wedding such a memorable day. We would highly recommend it!

Hobbit Hill is absolutely breathtaking and even the wet weather couldn’t put a dampener on our day! Our photos are stunning and really show just how beautiful the venue is.
All of the staff were brilliant and the attention to detail throughout was fantastic. The bar service was so quick, our guests absolutely loved the fire pit, and the accommodation was lovely with everything you could possibly need, including milk for a brew! Communication in the run-up to the wedding was also great and the whole team were really responsive to emails and questions we had, and worked with us to create our dream wedding day.
We genuinely couldn’t recommend Hobbit Hill enough. It was the perfect setting for our wedding and we’re so glad we chose it!

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Outstanding Venue! We had our wedding here in July 26. They were amazing from start to finish! Friendly, helpful and accommodating.

We booked a show around and they answered lots of questions on the day. We also attended a wedding fayre there and it’s amazing if you can see it done up.

The site is stunning we got married in the round wood outside and it was beautiful! The reception room is also gorgeous, rustic, huge but not too big with bifold doors so you can see the view and have it open in the summer as we did.

The accommodation is also amazing on the pods are gorgeous with a really quirky vibe! The house where the bride gets married has a full dressing room with mirrors and lights. This was perfect for the wedding morning.

They pack everything down the night of your wedding so it’s super easy to clear up the next day and literally tend to every request and need you have.

I think this venue is incredible! Stunning and faultless and the staff also were exceptional!

The location, and the venue itself, is absolutely breathtaking - our guests were just in absolute awe (as were we!). We'd had a rainy morning and had to make the decision to get married inside last minute, but Hobbit Hill handled this seamlessly and made sure that neither I nor my husband had any worry or stress about it on the morning. It did not detract from the joy of the day at all, as the ceremony room is stunning and looks out on a spectacular view. All the staff members who looked after us in the run-up to the day, and on the day itself, were fantastic. We were so well looked after, and everything ran so smoothly, that I never felt I was having to watch the clock or chase things up on the day.

We are both so grateful to Hobbit Hill for making our wedding day feel so magical and special. Special thanks to Laura and Jen, for all their support in the run-up to the day and on the day itself.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We got married at Hobbit Hill on 30th April 2026, and words simply cannot describe how incredible our day was. From the moment we arrived until the very end of the night, everything was absolutely perfect.
The biggest thank you goes to Katie, Laura, Jen, Becky, and the rest of the team, who made our day so special. Every detail was taken care of, and they were always one step ahead, ensuring everything ran seamlessly. We never had to worry about a thing.
We stayed in The Shire the night before, and it was the perfect place to get ready with all of my girls in the morning. The space is beautiful and spacious, which meant we could just enjoy our time together before the day.
The weather couldn't have been more perfect, and when we arrived back from church, everything was ready and waiting for us. Spending the drinks reception in the sunshine with our family and friends, listening to the gorgeous music from Becky & Josh, was possibly the highlight of my day. It was one of those moments that I’ll never forget.
We had the venue dressed by Amore, who did an impeccable job. That said, the barn is so stunning in its own right that it hardly needs any decoration at all, it's simply breathtaking.
We had guests staying across all the different accommodation, and every single person commented on how beautiful, spotless, and comfortable everything was. It's clear how much love and care goes into maintaining every part of Hobbit Hill.
From start to finish, the entire day felt magical. Hobbit Hill is simply the most beautiful wedding venue in the Ribble Valley (and beyond). We feel incredibly lucky and blessed to have celebrated the biggest day of our lives in such a special place.
Thank you again to every single member of the team for making our wedding day everything we dreamed of and more. We will treasure those memories forever.
